Raised in a musical family had Dean showcasing his talents at square dances by the age of three and while no musical journey is ever an easy one, he has had his fair share of trials and tribulations. This explains his desire to help certain charities during his music career.

Song writing has always been a part of Dean's life and although his writing covers many genres including country and rock, it's country music that continually draws his heart as that was the foundation of his youth.
This includes self produced EPs D’n’R Unplugged (2009 with Rob Robbins), Young Country (2011 with his family) to his recently released debut album, Makin’ A Life (2017) which was produced mainly by Barrytone Studios. The latest single, Dirty, was written and produced by Dean and his good friend Gary Borden.

A self taught musician, Dean was first introduced to the guitar at a young age by his father Bazil Young, who was a well known Country musician, radio host and DJ (CHOW & CHLM and also on the "Ramblin' Lou's Radio Show as guest host with brother Wally Young - "The Young Brothers"). By the age of 15 Dean's interest in musical instruments turned to the drums. He quickly caught the attention of the local music circuit and was soon playing drums while singing, both backing and lead, with numerous bands in Ontario Canada. (New York Minute, 21 Plus, White Frost, The Limit etc). Dean also enjoys playing guitar and percussion.

While playing with New York Minute, Dean was scouted by an Eagles tribute band, Hotel California. Due to his vocal similarity to Don Henley, they asked him to audition several times from the late 90’s until his audition in 2003 and Dean toured with them until May of 2018 when they parted ways.
Dean now tours with Epic Eagles; an Eagles tribute that he describes as miles beyond the previous band (SEE MORE)
